Sonic Comic //
Medusa’s Rage

Art Performance // Medusa’s Rage
At the exhibition opening of Eternal internal Flame Cathérine Lehnerer and Anne Atmeyer took us on an audiovisual journey in three acts. Accompanied by electronic soundart a triptych on glass windows at Moos Atelier, 1020 Vienna emerged.
The sonic comic transposes the myth of Medusa into a modern exposition from a feminist perspective. Sexually abused by Poseidon and sentenced to live in abominable ugliness by Pallas Athena, the once beautiful woman is now wavering between coping strategies and emancipatory practices. The Gorgon is a symbol of rage and resistance against patriarchal violence. Her destiny acts as metaphor for embracing our most vulnerable parts, transforming afflictions into forces of empowerment.
